ျမန္မာစကားမွာ ကလိမ္က်တာကို ''မျဖစ္ႏိုင္သည္ကို လိမ္လည္ လွည့္ျဖား ခ်ဲ႕ထြင္ေျပာဆိုသည္'' လို႔ အဓိပၸာယ္ ဖြင့္ပါတယ္။ အဂၤလိပ္မွာကေတာ့ လိမ္တာကို "Fraud" လို႔ေျပာတယ္။ Fraud ကို အဂၤလိပ္လို အဓိပၸာယ္ဖြင့္ရင္

" Crime of cheating somebody: the crime of obtaining money or some other benefit by deliberate deception" လို႔ဆိုထားပါတယ္။မေကာင္းတဲ့စိတ္နဲ႔ တစ္စုံတစ္ေယာက္ အက်ိဳးပ်က္ေအာင္ လုပ္တဲ့အလုပ္ေတြကို ကလိမ္က်တယ္လို႔ ေျပာတယ္

The third temple where we went to worship in Pagan was That-byin-nyu. The highest of the ancient religious monuments, it is also one of the most beautiful, with its harmonious proportions and tiered terraces.

Until the 1990s, visitors were allowed to climb up to the terraces and look down on the serenity of Pagan as it spread out in inimitable stillness. It was a perfect spot for "I've been there" photographs, and I have several of my young self sitting on one of the terraces with a cousin and an uncle, all of us looking very pleased with ourselves and with life in general.

၂၀၁၀ျပည့္ႏွစ္ ဇြန္လ။ ကေမၻာဒီးယားႏိုင္ငံတြင္ လုပ္ငန္းလုပ္ကိုင္ေနေသာ ဦးျပံဳးေမာင္ေမာင္ႏွင့္ အဖြဲ႕က ျမန္မာလူမ်ိဳး တစ္ဦးမွ်မရွိေသာ အရပ္ေဒသ၌ ျမန္မာေစတီတစ္ဆူကို ေတြ႕ ရွိခဲ့ၾကပါသည္။ ထိုေဒသမွာ ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံ ဘန္ေကာက္ၿမိဳ႕မွ သြားေရာက္ပါက အခ်ိန္ေလးနာရီ ၾကာျမင့္မည္ျဖစ္ျပီး ကေမၻာဒီးယားႏိုင္ငံ ဆီယမ္ရိမွ သြားေရာက္ပါက အခ်ိန္ေျခာက္နာရီ ၾကာျမင့္မည္ျဖစ္ေသာ ကေမၻာဒီးယားႏိုင္ငံ၊ ပိုင္လင္းေဒသ အနီး၌ ျဖစ္ပါသည္။

ေအာင္စူဠာမဏိေစတီ

ေစတီ၏ ဘြဲ႕အမည္မွာ ေအာင္စူဠာမဏိ(Aung Sular Mani Stupa) ျဖစ္ပါသည္။ ကေမၻာဒီးယား လူမ်ဳိးမ်ားက ေအာင္ခ်ဴဠာမဏိဟု ေခၚဆိုၾကပါသည္။ အျမင့္ေပ ၁၀၀ ခန္႔ရွိေသာ ကုန္းေတာ္ထက္တြင္ ေစတီ ကိုတည္ထားၿပီး ဥာဏ္ေတာ္အျမင့္ မွာ ေပေျခာက္ဆယ္ခန္႔ ရွိပါသည္။

People visit a golden stupa in Yangon, Myanmar. (Mainichi)Bagan Hotel (Riverview) truly does provide a magnificent view of the Irrawaddy flowing lazily along the western boundary of the lush grounds. Although well into the monsoon season, there was just one fleeting shower (the merest drizzle, really) during the four days we spent in Pagan and every evening we enjoyed the splendid sunsets for which the ancient capital is famous. From the verandah of our bungalow we would watch the red disc slide down at a regal pace, tinting the sky with impossible vermilions and oranges and yellows and lighting up fantastic cloud profiles before sinking behind the mauve and indigo hills that smudged the opposite bank of the river. It was a travel brochure photograph come to life.

For many years now, holidays for me have been memory snapshots of past events, vivid but distant.

The Himalayas: riding up and up a mountain path through lichen festooned forests on the back of a stately mule with seductively long lashes; sitting down on a grassy slope looking down at misty, shadowy lands, eating a lunch of hard boiled eggs and parched rice; wandering from Buddhist monasteries to Hindu temples in Kathmandu, then ending up in a small coffee shop famous for its American brownies; shooting the rapids on a raft; sighting a tiger from the back of an elephant while munching sour Indian gooseberries plucked from wild bushes; watching an enactment of the dance of death performed with mesmerizing slow steps by Tibetan monks in the North East Frontier Area of India. In a schloss overlooking a Swiss lake, enjoying delicious food of which the daily highlight was homemade rosehip jam for tea. On a canal boat meandering along the waterways of England, family dog perched on the roof, surveying the green views with absolute serenity. Camping on the empty sands of Tiree with the wide Scots gray ocean stretching away to where a few seals played.

၁၉၄၈ ခုႏွစ္၊ ဇန္န၀ါရီလ ၄ ရက္ေန႔တြင္ ျမန္မာျပည္ လြတ္လပ္ေရး ရေသာ အခါ သမၼတ ျဖစ္သူမွာ ေညာင္ေရႊ ေစာ္ဘြားႀကီး စ၀္ေရႊသိုက္ ျဖစ္သည္။ သို႔ေသာ္ စ၀္ေရႊသိုက္ကို ယာယီ သမၼတ ဟုသာ ဆုိၾကသည္။

ႏိုင္ငံေတာ္ ဖြဲ႔စည္းပံု အေျခခံဥပေဒ ေရးဆြဲ ထားသျဖင့္ ပထမဆံုး ေရြးေကာက္ပြဲမ်ား က်င္းပၿပီးေသာ အခါ လႊတ္ေတာ္ေခၚသည္။ ႏိုင္ငံေတာ္ သမၼတ ေရြးခ်ယ္ရန္ ျဖစ္၏။ ဦးဘဦးကို ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံေတာ္ သမၼတအျဖစ္ ေရြးေကာက္ တင္ေျမႇာက္ခဲ့သည္။

ဆရာေတာ္ ဦးဥတၱမ

ဆန္ေရစပါးႏွင့္ သယံဇာတ မ်ဳိးစုံေပါႂကြယ္လွေသာ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံတြင္ တိုင္းသူျပည္သားတို႔ စား၀တ္ေနေရး ခက္ခဲ က်ပ္တည္းကာ ဆင္းရဲ ဒုကၡေရာက္ေနၾကရျခင္းသည္ “အစိုးရ ညံ့ဖ်င္းလြန္း၍ ျဖစ္သည္” ဟု ၁၉၂၁ ခုႏွစ္ မတ္လ (၂၃) ရက္ေန႔ ေဒးဒရဲၿမိဳ႕နယ္ ဆုကလပ္ရြာ၌ တရားေဟာခဲ့သျဖင့္ ၿဗိတိသွ် စစ္ပုလိပ္တို႔၏ ဖမ္းဆီး အက်ဥ္းခ်ခံခဲ့ရသည့္ ပုဂၢိဳလ္ကို ျမန္မာတို႔ မေမ့ေလာက္ေသးဟု ထင္သည္။ ထို ပုဂၢိဳလ္မွာ ႏိုင္ငံေရး နယ္ပယ္မွ မဟုတ္၊ သာသနာ့နယ္ပယ္မွ ထူးျခားေသာ ရဟန္းေတာ္တပါး ျဖစ္သည္။

ထို ပုဂၢိဳလ္သည္ ျမန္မာ့ ႏိုင္ငံေရးသမိုင္းတြင္ ပထမဦးဆုံး ဖမ္းဆီးေထာင္ခ်ခံရေသာ ရဟန္း အာဇာနည္ ျဖစ္သည္။ အထူး သျဖင့္ “ကရက္ေဒါက္ ဂက္ေဒါက္” (Craddock, Get Out!) ဟူေသာ ေႂကြးေၾကာ္သံကို အေၾကာင္းျပဳ၍ ဆရာေတာ္ကို မွတ္မိၾကမည္ ထင္ပါသည္။ ထိုအာဇာနည္ အရွင္ကား “ဆရာေတာ္ ဦးဥတၱမ” ျဖစ္သည္။ “ကရက္ေဒါက္” (Sir Reginlad Henry Craddock) သည္ ထိုစဥ္က ၿဗိတိသ်ွကိုလိုနီ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ၏ ဒုတိယဘုရင္ခံ ျဖစ္သည္။

ကမၻာႏွစ္ခု ၾကားက ရတနာနတ္မယ္

မၾကာေသးခင္က ထြက္တဲ့ ၾသစေၾတးလ် အေရွ႕ပိုင္း Griffith University ရဲ႕ Review journal အမွတ္စဥ္ ၂၇ မွာ ေရးထားတဲ့ Between Two Worlds ဆိုတဲ့ စာတပုဒ္ကို ဆရာမ ေဒၚၾကည္ေမေကာင္း ဘေလာ့မွာေပးတဲ့ လင့္ေတြကတဆင့္ ဖတ္လိုက္မိတယ္။
